ACEP Burkina is a microfinance institution offering credit and savings services to entrepreneurs in urban areas of Burkina Faso. Burkina Faso is a low-income country facing numerous development challenges. It ranks 182nd out of 189 countries on the Human Development Index (HDI), with an HDI of 0.452. Microfinance institutions play a key role in financing the informal economy, which employs almost 90% of the working population according to some estimates.
With a relatively high average loan, ACEP Burkina is primarily targeting Burkina Faso’s informal VSEs and SMEs, which create jobs and added value, but are still prevented from accessing bank finance by a lack of collateral. ACEP Burkina’s main aim is to provide these entrepreneurs with appropriate and, above all, high-quality financial services.
