We who work at Banco Codesarrollo, and I as General Manager, celebrate with joy, enthusiasm and gratitude the 40th anniversary of SIDI, an organization with which we share the objective of working together, for populations excluded from their social rights, from economic development and from the financial system.
We are proud to count SIDI among our major shareholders.
Banco Codesarrollo is a financial institution that promotes finance with an ethical, social and environmental vision, helping to improve the economy and quality of life.
The aim is to contribute to improving the economy and quality of life of individuals, families and communities in the popular and solidarity economy, with a view to building a social and solidarity-based economic system.
The steady progress of the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Desarrollo de los Pueblos and the leadership of its president Giuseppe Tonello, enabled us in 2013 to meet SIDI, an organization with which we immediately sympathized. We share the same goal and the same vision that a more humane, socially equitable and environmentally responsible society and economy is possible.
Since then, we’ve moved forward together: in 2017, SIDI officially became a shareholder in Banco Codesarrollo, and from that moment on we’ve been able to collaborate in a shared vision, where collective action would make the difference.
Today, in 2023, SIDI’s support represents a loan of $500,000 and an equity investment of $1,420,100 in Banco Codesarrollo. Beyond that, Codesarrollo can count on its support and advice, among which we highlight SIDI’s contribution in 2019, in adapting our methodology for measuring our contribution to social development, reducing social gaps and responsible environmental management.
I would like to thank SIDI’s 2,000 shareholders who, through their commitment, dedication and trust, constantly support the social management that stems from solidarity in development. I am convinced that we will continue to work together with passion and determination to make the world a better place for all.
A hug from Ecuador
