I’m Jean Luckner Romulus, one of the founding members of KOFIP. For more than a decade, I’ve been on the board of the institution as National Coordinator.
SIDI has been involved in KOFIP since its inception. KOFIP was born in 1997, following a training course on popular financing run by SIDI’s Partnership Officer. After this period, the collaboration did not continue. But at the end of 2010, while I was taking part in a workshop on management tools for Mutuelles de Solidarité, I approached SIDI for technical assistance. In autumn 2011, KOFIP and SIDI signed an agreement, and since then the collaboration has continued, with SIDI providing KOFIP with accounting and management support; assistance in defining and monitoring performance indicators; and institutional support.
The results are tangible. There is a manual of internal procedures (accounting, portfolio monitoring, administrative). A strategic plan for network development has been drawn up. Employee skills have been strengthened.
KOFIP thanks all SIDI shareholders for their support. With this help, the network is strengthened, and the services it provides to its members improved and expanded. KOFIP is currently supported by SIDI in the development of a digital platform called “MUSOMOBIL”. The development of such a tool came to mind after SIDI presented MUSO networks with MUSO monitoring software. I’ve been working on it ever since, and now it’s becoming a reality. MUSOMOBIL is the only Mutuelles de Solidarité management application available on a telephone.
